When leaving the medieval town of Vinezac you will detour through Largentière. This pleasant town, which owes its name to the former silver mines exploited from the Xth to the XVth century succeeded in keeping the setting of a medieval town with its powerful fortified castle and its amazing palace of justice.
You will reach Aubenas through small roads which will provide you with so many sensations that you will find difficult to select one of them.
Main door to Ardèche, Aubenas with the old town perched on a rocky spur will display a superb medieval setting where the former ramparts stand under the towering castle and the dome Saint-Benoît. When leaving Aubenas via Saint-Privat, you will follow an itinerary where the views follow one another over the Auzon valley and its outstanding villages bearing delicious names such as Mirabel.
The road will climb gradually towards the Benas pass before diving to the Payre valley.
You will arrive in Le Pouzin, and spare some time to cast a glance to Chomérac castle.
At the end of the circuit a former lord mansion will wait for you on the bank of the river Rhône and at the foot of the Ardèche mountains. It keeps on preserving a hospitality full of good humour and care.
