Ajaccio, the Emperor Napoléon’s home town, deserves a longer part of the day unless you stay longer in order to have a trip to îles Sanguinaires where you will be transferred in a vacation paradise. From the Grande Sanguinaire lighthouse you will enjoy an outstanding view over the whole gulf of Ajaccio.
You will approach Corte through the Gravona valley. Amid the chestnut trees from the upper valley, you will have the opportunity to stop at the park in the vicinity of Bocognano. You will stop in Cupulatta where rare species of tortoises are bred in a particularly favorable water environment.
Then you will cross one of the lost beautiful forests in Corsica to reach the small resort of de Vizzavona. It is the hiking trail starting point among others, towards the mount of Oro which towers above the region at an altidude of 2389 m.
After having crossed Venaco you will stop for a while at the Bellagranajo pass to enjoy the view over the valley at the heart of the island, there you will be in the Corsican people’s capital. Before reaching Bastia you are invited to make a detour through the Castagniccia and more precisely the helmets of the Morosaglia village de where you will sink into the deep Corsica.
