Day 2 : LEMBACH - WANGENBOURG-ENGENTHAL (102 on 285 km)
At the heart of the regional natural Park of the Northern Vosges you will enjoy this former XVIII th century coaching inn.
Then you will cross forests where the beech trees mix with oak trees, maple trees, fir trees and spruces and alternate with prairies and ponds.
Hunspach is a typical town with its white houses and exposed beams as well as its extending canopies over the façades. A local originality : the rounded window glasses which permitted to see outside without being seen inside.
Hoffen remains another example of typical village with its triple canopy houses, its small town hall, its old communal well sheltered by a linden tree planted during the Revolution.
On the edge of the vast Haguenau forest you will come across the village of Betschdorf and its traditional houses, famous for its characteristic pottery "the salt sandstone" with a blue decor. This local tradition has been perpetuated since the Middle Ages.
The thermal baths have been developed in Merkwiller-Pechelbronn thanks to the hot springs renovated these last years.

A bit farther you will reach the spa town of Niederbronn already known by the Romans on the Northern Vosge foothill.
You will cross the Kochersberg a hilly region where the cereals, hop and tobacco grow side by side.
Eventually you will reach the Mossig valley from Wasselonne to arrive in Wangenbourg the end of your journey.
