Day 1 : LA FORET-FOUESNANT - AUDIERNE (97 on 285 km)
The domain of the Stang manor a XVth and XVIIIth century manor house surrounded by gardens, woods and ponds will provide charm and peace.
As soon as you start this Itinerary you will be surrounded by the variety and beauty of the Breton religious art. A good example is provided by the enclosed parochial unit of La Forêt-Fouesnant and more particularly the church baptistery.
After having travelled around the bay you will cross wooded stretches and at their end the splendid panorama of the Mousterlin headland will appear.
Before arriving in Bénodet have a look at the church tower with open work design of the chapel Sainte-Brigitte built in the XIIth century.
The river tourism lovers will take advantage to sail upstream the river Odet when leaving Bénodet to reach Quimper through the Kérogan bay.
At Pont-l’Abbé you may come across a Bigoudène wearing the typical high headdress.
In Loctudy near the fishing port the Roman church has been watchful on the sailors’ destiny since the XIIth century.
Along the coast road you will reach the Penmarch headland. After a visit to Saint-Nonna church with its flamboyant Gothic style you will have the opportunity to climb the l 307 steps of the Eckmühl lighthouse to enjoy an exceptional panorama over the Audierne bay. In the distance you will admire the Pointe du Raz, the « the ancient world » head land. Amid wild dunes you will discover a masterpiece which belongs to a masterpiece of Breton religious art, the wayside cross of the Notre-Dame-de-Tronoën chapel.
By travelling along the Audierne bay you will reach your evening home for the sunset.
