Day 2 : SOURZAC - SAINT-EUTROPE-DE-BORN (115 on 341 km)
A few yards from the Sourzac castle spend a romantic evening at the "Chaufourg in Périgord", a house surrounded by a majestic and secret park which overlooks l’Isle. You will reach the Crempse valley which makes its way in the heart of the Landais forest.
The Montréal castle appears after a bend on top of the hill with a curious half style mi-feudal and half-Renaissance style.
You will reach the hills of the Bergerac vineyards along the river Dordogne by travelling through the forests of pine and chestnut trees.
You will find back the river at the former port in the old Bergerac where you will discover the Récollets cloister and the house Peyrarède which harbours the museum of tobacco.
When leaving the banks of the Dordogne river you will sink into a green tide and come across the Monbazillac castle standing out. From the ruins of the Malfourat mill you will realize the real stretch of this vineyard displaying shimmering colours in autumn.
After driving past the Bridoire, castle on the banks of the Gardonnette you will reach a multicolored landscape where fruit cultures and pasture alternate. The old village of Issigeac harbours a gothic church and a castle built by the bishops of Sarlat who used to spend their holidays .
before entering the narrow and twisted Lède valley you will arrive in front of the imposing forteress of the Biron castle. The six floor keep of Gavaudun stands at the end of the valley.
Before reaching the Scandaillac castle you will stroll through the side streets of Monflanquin walled town.
