Day 2 : MADIERES - DOMAINE DU RANQUET (81 on 237 km)
From Madières you will sink in the heart of the gorges de la Vis. The steep slopes of Roc Blanc and the Roc of Senescal rise on both sides of the road.
At the confluent of the Hérault river when driving out the Mont-Mal wood you will reach Ganges and Rieutord a small industrial town where silk stockings where produced in the past.
After Sumène you will climb the Fage mountain up to the Bantarde pass. Before travelling on a particularly scenic road which is scattered with views, you will cross Lasalle a Cevenol town with a typical village.
When you arrive at Saint-Jean-du-Gard at the end of the afternoon, do watch the light which surrounds this little town and more precisely the austere houses standing along the high street a genuine which offers a southern scene. On market day this impression is still enhanced by the swarming of the salespersons and the holiday makers.
You will reach Anduze, real door to the Cévennes by following the Gardon and the railways line where des steam locomotives still go on the rails.
At that point you have nearly reached your objective. A few miles from Anduze the Ranquet homes are scattered in an immense park of pines and oak trees. You will have the opportunity to have your meals around a swimming pool.
