Day 1 : VAISON-LA-ROMAINE - REILLANNE (95 on 237 km)
This day will start with an itinerary through the ages. The high medieval town and the lower Roman town of Vaison-la-Romaine vie one another with historical assets on both sides of the Ouvèze river.
At the heart of the medieval town and at the foot of the Earls of Toulouse’s castle you will settle at the “ Hostellerie le Beffroi " composed of several lord mansions from the XVIth and XVIIth centuries prior to your departure.
During this first day you will drive very near the massif of Mount Ventoux. After Entrechaux, you will discover one of the most scenic road in the area. Amid a majestic site you will reach Brantes. This fortified village deserves your visit with its chapel of the Pénitents Blancs, its remains of a Renaissance manor and a highly decorated church.
You will keep on driving on the northern slope of the Ventoux in the Toulourenc lush-green valley before arriving in Sault.
Sault remains a real crossroad between the Ventoux, les Baronnies and the Lure mountain, it has become the starting point for famous bike rides towards the Mont Ventoux or the gorges of Nesque
You will pursue your itinerary on the plateau of Albion while crossing the light-blue fields of a full of scent lavender.
At the end of the day you will gradually leave the plateau of Vaucluse and before approaching the Luberon you will settle in a genuine countryside inn at the heart of Reillanne a verdant village in Haute Provence.
