Day 2 : FAIN-LES-MONTBARD - FAIN-LES-MONTBARD (71 on 142 km)
The second day will be devoted to a quiet itinerary along the canal of Bourgogne.
This superb ride in the Armançon valley will lead you to Ancy-le-Franc, where the castle visit is a must. This monument is considered as one of the most beautiful Renaissance mansion in Bourgogne.
You will drive back through the deep Auxerrois where small countryside roads and wood lanes follow each other.
After having crossed the National forest of Grand Jailly, you will enter a lush-green wood massif where you will admire Fontenay abbey in its verdant case.
This jewel of Cistercian art from the XIIth century is listed by UNESCO on the world Humanity Heritage.
A stop and a visit of the domain will enable you to go back to your roots.
