Day 1 : FAIN-LES-MONTBARD - FAIN-LES-MONTBARD (71 on 142 km)
During your week-end, you will be accommodated in a prestigious setting. Actually the Malaisy castle is situated at the heart of the Fontenay valley in the vicinity of the abbey having the same name. On the first day you will drive along a hilly circuit to admire the superb Renaissance Bussy-Rabutin castle.
Driving from a valley to the other one you will eventually reach the site of Alésia which saw César definitely conquer Gaul thanks to his victory over Vercingétorix in 52 B.C.
Then you will approach the Middle Ages while visiting the perched village of Flavigny-sur-Ozerain and Semur-en-Auxois a XVIth century fortified town .
To come back you will drive along small agricultural roads on the Auxois plateaus on your way you will admire the impressive Lantilly castle and the more discreet Grignon castle.
