Between Garonne and Dordogne from castles to vineyards

In a magnificent setting situated between Dordogne and Lot the Scandaillac castle a beautiful XIVth century cottage fully renovated will offer its extreme refinement.

From villages to helmets, from forests to ponds and from hills to views, you will approach the fertile plains of la Garonne.

Marmande lies at the heart of this immense garden with its famous tomato, tobacco and melon cultures. In the same way the Côtes of Marmandais the vineyards of which stretch on both banks of the river Garonne.

You will follow either the river or its side canal up to the Réole. Upon your arrival you will discover a superb view on the castle, the church and the former abbey.

Then you will travel towards the Drapt valley and its wild water which feeds picturesque mills.
After the walled town of Sauveterre-de-Guyenne and its four fortified doors which allow the visitor to enter the traditional central square place surrounded by archways you will discover the former fortified Benedictine abbey of Blasimon at the bottom of a small valley.

You will find back Dordogne at the town of Castillon . This site reminds the battle which put an end to the English domination in this area.
Before reaching Saint-Emilion you will appreciate again the landscapes of the Bordelais vineyards where the Côtes de Castillon controlled label was born in 1989.
