For your stay in catalan country settle down at "La Terrasse au Soleil", between sea and mountain in this haven of peace where Charles Trenet drew his inspiration.

You will enjoy the southern flavours in this old cottage, nestled in the greenery and in the shade of a centennial olive tree while admiring the majestic shapes of the Canigou mountain.

After having left Céret, drive up the Tech valley towards Amélie-les-Bains, a small mountain spa town nicely invaded by oleanders, palm trees and mimosas. Amélie-les-Bains is famous for its sulphur water which springs at 63° C as well as the exceptional mildness of its climate.
Chestnuts and green oak trees run alongside the road which crosses Saint-Marsal and Taulis villages. After the Xatard pass you will drive down the valley vallée before travelling up towards the Paloumère pass, with a view plunging down to the Têt valley.

After the small village of Valmanya, you will approach the slope towards Vinça in the wild gorges of Lantilla.
Then you will follow the stream which trickles out from the imposing dam on the Têt valley up to Ille-sur-Têt.

Drive around to admire the amazing geological formation composed of devil’s chimneys called the Organs of Ille.

You will drive back to Céret through the mountains including a mandatory stop at the Serrabone priory church a marvel of the Roman in Roussillon.
After crossing the passes of Fourtou and Llauro you wind find back your refuge for a well deserved rest.
